ChatGPT as a mirror: prompts to see yourself from the outside

ChatGPT as a mirror: prompts to see yourself from the outside

🧠 A new ChatGPT trick I recently discovered

There’s one interesting thing that most people underestimate.

If you’ve been using ChatGPT (or any AI like Gemini) for at least a few months, it already knows more about you than you think.

Seriously.

It can see:
• how you put your thoughts into words
• which topics trigger you
• where you have doubts
• where you feel confident
• how you make decisions
• what you repeat over and over again

And the most interesting part is that you don’t have to spell any of this out. It’s already there in your chat history.

💡 And this is where a new level of using AI opens up:

You can use it to hold up a mirror to yourself.

Not just “ask something and get an answer”, but:

👉 “Tell me, what patterns do you see in my behaviour?”
👉 “In what ways am I holding myself back?”
👉 “Where am I avoiding decisions?”
👉 “What strengths do you see in me from our conversations?”
👉 “What do I do better than I think I do?”
👉 “What mistakes do I keep repeating?”
👉 “What does my thinking style look like?”
👉 “Looking at all my questions, what am I really interested in?”

And that’s a really powerful thing.

Because this isn’t just advice “from the internet”.
It’s an answer based specifically on you.

In effect, you already have your own personal:
• analyst
• reflection partner
• “thinking coach”

And it’s available 24/7.

📌 A little life hack:
Try writing something like:

“Analyse me as a person based on our conversations. Give me honest feedback that’s as objective as possible.”

And just see what happens.

Sometimes it reveals things you don’t notice about yourself.
